In the heart of Berry and the Brenne park, the Domaine du Ris de Feu is a 375-acre haven of peace and quiet. Its 15th century manor house and fortified farmhouse will take guests back through the centuries. In byegone times it formed part of the sentinel chateaux which defended the frontier between the kingdom of England and the kingdom of France. On the property is a lake, a stream, an orchard, a kitchen garden and some gallo-roman remains with their bridge. Spa and sauna. The suite has been renovated in traditional fashion, preserving the old terracotta floor tiles and also in an eco-friendly manner along with the rest of the domain. Pleasant breakfasts. Specialties : Apéritif : vin cuit ou jus de fruit... Entrée : velouté de cèpes, ou de pissenlits ou d'orties ou potage Germiny ou potage glacé aux courgettes avec sa chantilly... Plat : tarte solognote, le velouté de cèpes, le gratin de pommes de terre aux cèpes, mijoté de boeuf ou d'agneau avec légumes de saison, ou gratin de champignons avec sa salade ou gratinée de feuilles d'épinards et de moutarde à la ricotta... Fromage : Faiselle de chèvre aux herbes et le pain du menuisier... Dessert : Les pommes en chabrot ou sorbet de saison et sa génoise ou tarte solognote... Café ou tisane.
