The Territoire de Belfort, although the fifth smallest department in France, contains an enormous diversity of landscapes, shaped by both history and geology: the Ballon d'Alsace, the Vosges Massif, the Malsaucy lake which can be enjoyed along the 'route des villages fleuries', the flowered village trail, a treat in itself.
