This 13th century fortress, which once belonged to both Catherine de Medicis and Marguerite de Valois is a perfect example of a medieval military chateau with its moat, ramparts, watch towers, and parapets. The suites and rooms, accessed by the courtyard (Court of Honour) are very spacious and comfortable and very elegantly decorated and furnished, with marvellous views of the grounds, courtyard or the village. Guests share the blue lounge giving onto the park, the library with its beamed ceiling 'à la française' and the dining room with its vaulted ceilings, fireplace and copper collection.
