The chateau de Manoncourt, a listed building dating from the 17th century, is set in eight acres of leafy grounds. Badly damaged during the first World War, it was rebuilt in 1919-1920 by a local industrialist. In 1924 he engaged the artist Louis Guingot (1864-1948), a decorator, inventor and founder-member of the Nancy art movement, to create the majestic frescoes which now adorn the magnificent reception hall of the chateau.
