The Haute Vienne possesses a rich and varied historial heritage. The Romanesque period has bequeathed the collegiate churches of Dorat and Eymoutiers, the abbey-church of the Solignac monastery and many smaller village churches. Military history has left chateaux at Chalucet, Châlus and Lastours and the history of the porcelaine and enamel industry can be seen in the museums in Limoges. From your Bed and Breakfast in the Haute Vienne you have the choice between a boat trip on the Vassivière lake, a steam-train ride in the heart of the Limousin, a ride in the countryside on the little train at Bussière and Limoges, or an unusual 'vélo-rail' excursion on the old railway lines at Bussière Galant. And after all that effort, reward yourself with some delicious traditional cherry clafoutis!
Most of our Bed and Breakfast addresses are approved by the four official networks (Gîtes de France, Fleurs de Soleil, Clévacances, Accueil Paysan) or by the Tourist Board.
