Bourges, the old capital of the Berry province, is now the prefecture of the Cher department. It is most famous for its music festival the 'Printemps de Bourges'. It is also very proud of its historical monuments such as the Jacques Cœur palace or the gothic Cathedral of Saint Etienne, begun at the end of the twelfth century, listed as a World Heritage Site, and considered the earliest example of the high gothic style of the thirteenth century, interlaced by its old streets and half-timbered houses. The marshes of the Yèvre, in the city, also a listed site, provide a very green aspect to Bourges. Discover this little known area with Bed and Breakfasts in and around Bourges.
