In the heart of the Ardèche méridionale, the charming medieval town of Aubenas is situated at the crossroads of northern Ardèche (butter Ardèche) and southern Ardèche (oil Ardèche). Around a maze of narrow paved streets, you will find the old fort, altered over the centuries into an imposing residence overlooking the valley. From here you can explore the Gorges de l'Ardèche, Antraigues, the ardèche mountains with the Mont Gerbier de Jonc and the source of the Loire, the Cévennes, the medieval town of Largentière, the villages of Vogüé, Balazuc, Vallon Pont d’Arc as well as the thermal spas of Neyrac les Bains and Vals les Bains...And the delicious myrtilles and chestnuts and ardèche caillettes will make your mouth water in Bed and Breakfasts in and around Aubenas.
