‘La Ville Rose’- the pink city- a must to be explored in Bed and Breakfasts in and around Toulouse. In the heart of the south-west of France, with the subtle perfume of violet (the flower is the symbol of Toulouse), a city where the distinctive brick architecture gives it its nickname. A colourful, festive city, with typical southern temperament, renowned for its gastronomic delights: its famous cassoulet, Toulouse sausage, duck confit amongst others treats. Visit the many churches, museums and galleries on offer, or for the more technologically-minded, the space experience at ‘Cité de l’éspace’ or the Airbus factory. Relax along the quays of the Garonne river or the banks of the Canal du Midi, on its way to Carcassonne and the mediterranean, or explore the waterways by bike and stay in one of the many Bed and Breakfasts along its route. Or go further afield into the beautiful Pyrenees, the gorges du Tarn, discover the miracles of Lourdes, the thermal waters of Luchon, the Albi of Toulouse Lautrec, the wines of Cahors and not to be missed: the incredible viaduct at Millau. Not to mention the lovely villages in the region with a rich historical past: Rocamadour (also famous for its cheese!), Conques, St Bertrand de Comminges and the Gers with its chateaux, abbeys and foie gras. All with a Bed and Breakfast within easy reach carefully selected by samedi midi!
